Hei! Fant litt om vandrehistorien "Bloody Mary" på en side. Var litt interessant.. http://wintersteel.homestead.com/Urban_Legends.html
Mary Worth is said to have lived in Massachusetts in the 17th century. Her face was hideously disfigured by dark red scars. Children in the Village called her "Bloody Mary," and followed her through the streets chanting her name over and over
During one of the colony's witch scares, Mary was accused in being in league with the Devil, and was hanged. One night, not long after Mary's execution, a group of children decided to play at conjuring. They set up a mirror against the wall and sat in a semi-circle around it. Then they all began to chant, "Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary." When they had chanted the name for the 99th time , Mary appeared in the mirror. Her face was more hideous than ever, and her hands had turned into claws. She reached through the looking glass to tear the children's faces.
Shrieking and screaming, the terrified children tumbled out of the room. Although Bloody Mary disappeared that day, her spirit remains, waiting for someone to call her name.
Variations:
In some places the children chant, "I do believe in Mary Worth," or "Bloody Mary come get me!" In other parts of the United States the spirit's name is Mary Whales, Mary Johnson, or Mary Lou. Some folklorist believe there is a connection between the Bloody Mary Legend and the Chicano Legend of La Llorona, a weeping ghost who wanders forever searching for her children whom she murdered. The number of times to chant her name varies also. It ranges from 5 to 100. In some plces they mention her as half human and half animal, while in others she will be either the wife, daughter, or sister of Satan. Other's believe that it's not Mary you call- But the Devil himself. Some claim it was the christain church who made her up to stop children from entering spell casting, instead of the begining of their prayer "Hail Mary," the chanting starts with "Hell Mary." Could it be true that this person ever really existed? Many have sincerely claimed to have seen her or have had some sort of experience in the action of calling her name.

Experiences:
I myself had a experience calling out to Bloody Mary. I was at a boyfriends house at the time, with a very large group of our friends. We were drinking, eating, and most of all-having a great time! I decided to put some "scare" into the group and lit candles, made a pentagram on the living-room floor, {just for show},and started talking about the paranormal. I then convinced them all to join me in the bath-room in the ritural of calling her to us.
I told my best friend at the time to baracade the door-for I didn't want anyone trying to escape! I began with the calling, saying "Bloody Mary come get us!" It was believed that by the 13th try, she would appear. Now I was very serious doing this, and when I reached #13, we ALL saw something I still have no explanation for! The mirror in the bath-room seemed like boiling water! I mean we could SEE the bubbles and even hear the sound of when they would "Pop!" Naturally, we all fled that bath-room in a hurry!
Years later, I met up with half of the group at a show. We were all just talking, and catching up, when that dreadful night was mentioned. All still claim to have seen the same thing. Now let me explain this; NO ONE said, "Oh look bubbles!" Or anything at the time. We saw, we ran, and that was it! We practically all said at the same time what we had seen when out of the bath-room.

Of course, it is also said, that it's not Mary who actually appears when you call, but any spirit that's in the area that's being done so.

Ghost Story
It was a friday night. Meand my two best friends were having a sleep over. We were on the net,and decided to read up on Bloody Mary. As we read, we got the idea "Why dont we try this". So we all went into the bathroom. We each had a candle in front of us. We were holding hands. Then on the count of three, we chanted Bloody Mary come and get us. We said it about 13 times, then we saw something so terrible, and frighting, we all began to scream. There standing right behind us, was a woman , drenched in blood, staring at us. We
all quickly ran out of the bathroom. So we could be in the light.
Now to this day, me and my friends still talk about it, and remember her terrible face.

My Bloody Mary Story
Urban Legend
One weekend, me and my best friend Whitney were on the computer reading about Bloody Mary and we decided to try it out because we thought it wouldn't work. So me and Whitney went to my room in my closet and looked into the mirror with a candle lit and said "Bloody Mary" about 30 times. We started to get scared, we didn't know my mom was in the room and then she went in my closet and yelled "RAHH" and we thought it was Bloody Mary because we saw my moms reflection in the mirror!! We got so scared that we almost pissed our pants. So we ran as fast as we could and turned on the light and there we saw my mom laughing her head off!! We started to laugh as well when we realized it was just my mom...

Urban Legend

I was going to a camp, called "Camp Farnum" in Duraham Connecticut. I was in the bathrooms with my friend Jennifer, we were about 6 or 7 years old then. Everyone knew about Bloody Marry, there were so many different versions of the legend we were told. I was just about to wash my hands. i turned on the water, but nothing came out. We decided it would be funny to see if the legend was true. I told her I was going to try it and she said, "Go ahead, but i'm scared!" So I did it about 13 times, then all of a sudden the water came on, and all the toilets flushed at the same time. My friend and I then started to see a figure of a woman in the mirror. We didn't even bother to stick around to see what would happen next. We both just ran out of the bathroom screaming "Bloody Marry is coming!!!!"We were soooooo scared. Whell we are 16 now almost 17 and we still believe what we saw that day. We are still scared of that legend!!!

Surrency's Bloody Mary
Urban Legend
My step-dad every now and then will tell us a story about a road in Surrency that "black people and truckers are scared to go down." He says that in a bar that used to be there a woman called Mary who only had one arm got killed. They say that on some nights truckers'll be driving down that road and when they drive by the place where she died, she'll appear and grab on to the mirror. The way to get rid of her they say is to wave to her (remember she only had 1 arm.),then she'll wave back and fall off. But be prepared to hear a blood curdleing scream!!!

I'm taking a myth, symbol and meaning class at college and the
assignment is to look up an urban legend and ask people their
version of the story I choose Bloody mary because I've actually done it and not thinking about until doing reasearch that I could share my experience with someone. I was nine years old and at my best friends house with her two brothers. (they were vietnamese and now that I think about it am surprized that they even new about the story because they had not been here in the USA long) we were all close in age. The four of us were up stairs in their bathroom with the lights off in front of the mirror. We all were holding hands. WE
all started saying bloody mary, bloody mary, bloody mary I'm going to kill your baby and we'd say this as we turned in a circle looking in the mirror as we turned around. Right away the mirror had a red blurry image of a woman we all screamed in terror and ran down stairs when we got down there looking at Tinh one of the brothers he was in horror looking at the insides of both his forearms there was deep bleeding marks on his arms they could have been scratch marks but since then we have never tried do it again or even talked about doing it.

My cousin is a 28 year old man and to see him shake in fear when telling this story is what holds me to belive him. He was around 12 years old and his parents just got divorced. His mom and some friends took their kids camping to make the two feel better. The kids were telling ghost stories when the legend of bloody mary came up. They decied to do it. The way they knew of was to get the room steemy and say her name over and over again. So, my cousin was the one who said "i will do it." as he was saying her name, everything went white around him. Then he (not his friends) saw the most horrific sight he
had ever seen before. His friends say he was out of it, not screeming nothing. they got scared and took him to him mom. By that time he we normal again, although shaking with a blank expression on his face. his mom thought his friends did somthing to him and was yelling at them. at that time, my cousin looked over at the chair next to him, and there she was staring right at him. He started to screem and my aunt quickly took him to the camper, continually yelling at them. She look at my cousin and swore thoes wernt his eyes she was looking at. Then, he grabbed her wrist with a strength she knew a 12 year old boy dosen't have, and in a diffent voice he yelled at her "You DON'T know" That is the only part of that night my cousin does not remember.

One night my parents were out dancing and my sis was at a sleep over, perfect night for me to invite my friends over to spend the night, there were 4 boys and 2 girls, we were telling ghost stories and my friend Aaron told a bloody mary story, that got me all wondering, now i really wanted to try that, so i suggested it, we took a vote, Alexa didnt want to try it but she was out-voted any way, so she left the
room, now i had a very religous friend named Noah, he had a cross around his neck and carried a little bible around practically everywhere, he said he wasnt going to leave the room screaming because he knew god wouldnt let evil harm him, yeah we all thought he was very weird, anyway, we looked at the mirror in my room, i found a white candle and lit it, i placed it in front of us, we each chanted "Bloody Mary" 13 times in unison, suddenly i saw something in the mirror, a horribly scarred face, the image haunts me still, everyone beagn to scream, exept Noah, but i could see the extreme
fear in his face, the lights started flickering, i could hear Alexa shouting "Whats going on?" I ran to the door but it wouldnt open, Noah was shouting his prair now, it sounded like hail mary full of grace, even though he knew that the mary in the prair and the mary in the mirror were two different people, it was the only one he could remember at the moment, i could hear a scream of a women, Alexa suddenly bust the door open, she had taken a running start apperently, and fell right on Noah. We all looked at the mirror, the was a long crack right in the spot where we had seen the face, i blew out the candle and we all slept in the family room that night, even though none of us got any sleep.
Thanx for reading my story.

Sad Eyes
Ghost Story
Feb/15/05
It was late on a Saturday night, and me and my friend taylor were having a sleepover. We were so bored, because we'd watched every single movie in the house, and my older brother was on the computer, so we decided to tell ghost stories.
The first one was about Bloody Mary, so, naturally, we wanted to try it. We found some old candles and put them in holders in front of my bathroom mirror. Then we lit them, turned out the lights, and began to chant "Bloody Mary".
We said it about 17 times, and then we noticed the mirror was sort of glowing. At first we thought it was just the candles, so we started to say her name again. Then the candle on the left flickered and went out. I thought it was a coincidence. I'm not really a big believer in that kind of stuff. Neither is Taylor. Anyways, after we said her name one more time, the candle on the right went out. I was trying to remain calm, and not freak out, because I thought the reason people went insane in the bathroom was because of fear or whatever.
Then we saw it. It was so blurry, and in the darkness I thought it was my face. Or Taylors. But then we noticed the eyes were starting to glow red. We were so scared. Our instinct should have been to run away, but we were to scared to move. The eyes became clearer and clearer, but we still couldn't see them very well. I don't know what Taylor saw, but I know that the eyes looked sad, or concerned or
something. They weren't expressionless, and they weren't angry. But they were scary.
We ran from the bathroom, and as we left, I caught a glimpse of the mirror. It was blank, like normal, reflecting the toilet across from it.
I might have imagined it, but Taylor said she saw the same thing. That is was creepy. But I'll always remember the sad eyes.

all the toilet doors flung open. i didnt go back in there for ages. so i told all my friends that she was real and they all said we was joking! i couldnt win. then when my friend went in there and done it the same thing happened again but this time it was all the taps! NO JOKE!

-Mirror Mirror on the Wall Who's the Bloodiest Of them All???
Urban Legend

Here's a tale of my experience with the mirror witch whom we all know so well as "Bloody Mary"
Me and a good friend of mine always were into the paranormal
stuff...well when Bloody Mary was always brought up, I would wimp out and not even think about doing the 'ritual'. I didn't want to be a wimp and I decided to prove my bravery...or was it foolishness...It was along time ago maybe when I was 11(I'm 15 now) and I went into my bathroom, locked the door, and of course turned out the lights. I chanted Bloody Mary 3 times while going around in circles with my
eyes closed. When I reached the 3rd name and turn, I looked into the mirror and guess what I saw....A bloody red gleam reflected in the mirror, it looked as if it was moving...and I had trouble getting the door to open and I DIDN'T stick around to see her face to face, I got the hell out of there. Thank God that I wasn't hurt....but I don't like to look at mirrors in the dark or go to the bathroom at night, it has scarred me mentally. I get into a frantic freaked out mood if someone starts to bring it up, and I try desperately to tell them NOT to risk it because I am well aware that something could've happened to me that day that was much worse than being afraid of the dark and mirrors....That's my personal experience I share with you.

My story begins when I was 12 years old (I'm now 24) during Halloween night when I had six of my friends over my house and we all agreed to call Bloody Marry in the bathroom mirror. We all went into the bathroom, closed the door and locked it. My friend Ben (which I haven't seen in years) called her name at least ten times and starred in the mirror. I never looked at the mirror my self, but from what I
remember was that one of my friends was flipping the light switch up and down and the light wasn't working. My friend Ben had a flashlight with him (at the time) and that wasn't working at all either. One of my other friends yelled out to me and said " There's somebody right next to you"! I didn't see anybody next to me so I said " The hell with this"! and ran over to the door, flew it open and we all ran out of the bathroom. We waited a minute and I walked over to the bathroom light switch and turned it on. The light came on. My friend Ben's flashlight was working again. 'Till this day I have not seen my friends in the longest time and I don't think that they talked about what happened that night, But I do know this is that I hate mirrors and I never have any around when I sleep at night. Believe me when I say that this is a true story because one of my friends now use to
practice witch craft and he believes me of what I told him.

My friend Renae and I were looking up The good ole Bloody Mary Legend on the computer. I remember it saying something at the end like "And Dont Bring All Your Giggling Friends With You" I guess they thought it would make you lose concentration. Well anyways we decided to get on the quijji board and we ended up talking to what ever this thing
claimed to be satin. i was like "hey who is this we are talking to" and they said to look in the bible on a certain page like jacob 1:89 or something like that and it talked about the devil.(Falling Angel) then they spelled out hey go look in the mirror..but dont bring your giggling friends with you. then renae and i went into her bathroom with a black candle and we started to chant "Bloody Mary" about 15 times and then all the sudden the medicine cabnet (mirror) started
opening and shutting faster and faster. we ran up in her room and got under the blankets. That same night we bolth woke up 4:15 in the morning by a huge bang and noone was in the house but us that night...can u say GET ME THE HELL OUTTA HERE!! -SAM-

When I found out about ghosts I thought I should find out more then that's when I heard the stories about bloodymary. One night I decided to try and contact the dead and especially bloodymary, and I made my own board and it didn't work so I tried the mirror. I was so nervous but then said to myself it wouldn't work but I tried it I called her name 13 times and then it went cold and I felt a draft and then started to shiver when I saw a small blurred image of a woman in the mirror and then ran for my life.I never tried again after that. It scared me too much.

One Night I was about 8 years old (I am now 11)But, anyways I was with my friend josh. We had always known about Bloody Mary (from previous time where our older siblings would try to scare us). Any way there was this commercial that showed Types of Myths and stuff and anyways for a brief moment, we saw a picture of Bloody mary( we knew it was her because they had labeled it)So me and my friend decided to try the ritual like I said we already knew about pretty much everything about the ghost, so anyway we went to the bathroom and turned off all the lights. We chanted the ritual: Bloody mary come get me like 7 times until we felt something. Than for a moment we couldn't see anything, because the candles went out sorry I didn't mention this earlier, and all of the sudden we saw a disfigures face, not at first it was very small and colorless then it became bigger and kind of a whitish red I
stayed there and kind of mumbles out :who are you:? She did not say anything, but her mouth did open and she did appear to be talking but we couldn't hear any ones voice. Me and Josh crawled out of the bathroom after we opened the door( We thought maybe she wouldn't see us if we hid behind the bathroom accessories lol, what can I say I was and then we got on our knees and slammed the door shut .Now I feel
I have to hold my bladder so just incase she comes back

The woman in the mirror (Bloody Mary)
Urban Legend
6/7/05
Last summer, when I was 13(now 14), my friends and I were having a sleep over after a party. We were sitting around just chatting and the story of Bloody Mary came up. We all laughed about it and decided to try it. I mean what harm could come from it. So into the bathroom we went.
We turned out the lights and got the mirror wet. We each gave
eachother a somewhat of a smirked look and then we counted to three and chanted "Bloody Mary" three times.
It was silent for about ten seconds, then a loud thumping noise was heard. It sounded like a heart beating. I could hear us breathing harder and I went to run out but I couldnt move. I looked into the mirror and there she was. A detailed silhouette of her stood behind us. Her hair was covering her face and a pool of blood covered the floor. We all screamed and headed for the door. But then she started to rasied her head. But I didnt stay to see what she looked like. WE all ran out and slammed the door.
We sat down on the couch and went quiet. I looked over at one of my friends and noticed there was blood all over the floor. I asked her why she was bleeding but she had no marks on her what so ever. My other friend had a red eye for the night that made her look possessed and me well I had nightmares about her face and when I woke up I had a huge cut on my stomach. To this day we havent had any strange happenings
but im terrified to go into the bathroom.

I was bored one day so I decided to do something. there wasn't much to do so I thought I would do the whole bloody mary thing. I had heard from some people about their incident that had done it. I thought it was all fake but I wanted to try it anyway. that night I went into the bathroom and turned off the lights. I looked into the mirror and started chanting bloody mary...bloody mary.....bloody.. by the third
time I started to see this red figure on the mirror forming. as it became more clear it was a figure of a face... a woman's face. I was so scared to I ran out of the bathroom. I tried to get it out of my head so I went and sat on the sofa watching tv. later my sister came home... she then goes why do you have red stains on your back?? I went and looked and saw that I had scratches on my back and they were bleeding...I was scared even more...

One time when I was at home alone, I had just finished watching urban legends and I thought of that bloody mary rumor. So I went to my restroom and said Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary. I didn't see a woman, but I did see a reflection that wasn't me looking back in the mirror. I left the bathroom and went outside because my friend lived
a few houses away. I told her what I did and she pointed to my arm and asked me how I got that scratch. it was long and bleeding. I don't know how I got it but I hadn't had it before I went in the bathroom!

it was about elementary I was in about 4th grade. a whole bunch of us went into the girls bathroom and the boys in the boys bathroom to do bloody mary... so all of us formed a circle holding hands n stuff... we putted a ball right in the middle of all of us... and we turned out the lights. we started chanting bloody mary over and over again...
all of a sudden the ball in the middle of us started bouncing up and down. we all started being scared, then we looked at the mirrors and out of all the mirrors we saw a red light or blood looking something in the middle one... the ball was still bouncing a whole bunch of us were screaming too... then all of the sudden the yard duty lady came in... she turned on the lights..and she told us to get out of the bathroom (ruining our fun as always). the ball stopped bouncing ..... so we started leaving the bathroom and as I turned around and looked at the mirror with the red thing I saw what looked like a scratch in it. as we were all talking about it later on the same thing came from the boys too.. they did the same thing... but instead of the ball in the middle of them they had putted it in the corner... but what was even weirder was the red looking thing in the mirror and the scratch afterwards just like what happened to us. also it was on the middle mirror... talk about scary.....

When I was about 10, me and my best friend (rachael), her sister(stephanie), and a friend (cathy) were all staying at rachael's house for the night. We were bored so we went swimming in her pool. It was like nine and we decided to go inside and watch some movies or something. We were all in bathing suits when someone decided to look up scary stories. Rachael went to some website that told us about Bloody Mary. We decided to try it. It didnt work. We tried a different
way each time. The first time it worked we turned out the lights and lit a candle. We spun around 5 times saying, "Bloody Mary, we summon you." When we stopped we looked in the mirror and saw a sad face looking back at us.Four girls and one boy (my brother) looking in a mirror and seeing a grown woman looking at us. We screamed and took off. The second time was worse. We took a candle in the bathroom. it
was about noon and the bathroom was black. We lit the candle and sprinkled water on the mirror and chanted "Bloody Mary, we killed your baby." We were stunned as we saw the water turn to blood. We saw the angry reflection of the same woman we saw before. We were turning on the light and running out of the bathroom as fast as we could while she was reaching for us. When were out we were laughing at how scared we were of a reflection of a dead lady. We were wearing bathing suits
again and a friend was with us. She was the last one out of the bathroom. I saw scratches on her back. I pointed this out to everyone and agreed what happened was real and not to call Mary ever again because we may not be so lucky next time. Later we went to a trailer in the front lawn. We were looking for someone who was at the store. We saw a mirror and thought of doing Candyman. We decided not to chance it. Thanks for reading my experience.

Ghost Story

ok,this story might just be a joke to you, but it was a reality to me. I was 11 years old, at some sh***y church camp I was forced to go to by my sent from hell grandmother. Me and some girls at the camp decided to try out some tricks in the bathroom, some tricks we had been planning on for a while. We went into the bathroom, with about 5 stalls, and 5 mirrors, old, but still in pretty good shape. We shut out
the lights, but one candle on each sink, below the mirror, and all 6 of us stood hand in hand, in a line, along the mirrors. We all looked at each other and nodded our heads to being the chanting, all the mom's that were in the next room, my grandma one of them, went to take a dip in the pool, so we had our chance, and of course I was farthest from the door. We all started chanting together, slowly and quietly at
first, but we grew faster and louder. We chanted "I love you bloody mary" about 9 or 10 times, then we said something, I still wish we had never said..."we hate you bloody mary" nothing happened, we all stood there and we shaking so hard, I knew there was something wrong, we all dropped hands, and looked at each other for an explanation, we all shrugged and began to exit the room, before the girl, got to the door, all the stall doors began to slam open and shut open and shut, the faucets all turned on, one by one, until the last one was on, by me, of course, we all looked to the mirrors, frozen with fear. My eyes watered with tears, the pale as snow face in the mirror, with red as blood eyes was staring at me, bleeding tears...I couldn't move, apparently, all the girls saw the same, in each mirror. then, what appeared to be blood spilled out slowly from under the mirrors, into the sink, the girls leaped for the door, while I was moving slowly from
the 5th mirror, to the 4th, the 3rd, the face following me all the way, the door opened, we all ran out, one girl, tammy, pulled me out, my heart stopped,my face was pale, and I had no breathe, the girls were all worried about me, for I had a red hand print around my neck...I will forever be scared by that face, and the chanting words in my mind as I stared into those eyes "I can see you, I can see you..." and as we got into our beds that night, we all awoke in fear the next morning, with slits, down our wrists, up to our forearms, the scar still remains on me. All you girls reading this page, thinking of it'll be fun, please don't do it, I now have insomnia, and a drug addiction, they are both linked to my horrific sighting. Listen to someone who knows, please, don't do it....

I went to a catholic school and evryone knew about the bloody Mary story. I was in about the 6th grade when me and three friends decided that we wanted to do the bloody mary thing. Our cafeteria is really old and it has really creepy bathrooms. We waited till it was almost the end of lunch time, by then there was no one in the cafeteria. We all went in to the bathroom. I was the one by the door because I wanted to be the first one out if anything happened. I was already scared to start with because I always had a wierd feeling about that bathroom. Anyways so I locked the door and turned off the light and we all where saying bloody mary in unison. Then all of the sudden the toilet started running and the door flung open. I ran out so fast. This is no joke. We never used that bathroom again.

"BLOODY MARY--NOT FOR BEGINNERS"
Urban Legend

I had two friends over (Tony and Jerze) when a third friend (Dewayne) dropped by. On Dewayne's arm was Sharon, a "smarter than you" college girl he'd been dating. After a few beers, Sharon started jabbering about the Bell Witch, and how by chanting "Bloody Mary" in a darkened mirror, the Bell Witch would appear... and maybe just maybe do great bodily harm to those summoning her. Well, we all agreed that sounded
too wonderful for words, and so we decided to take a dare.
Now, the first of my friends already there, Tony, had a soul of iron and would have spat on the devil just to put out his fire. But my second friend already there, Jerze, was "the little Polish kid from down the street." He was properly restrained, properly undernourished, and very properly religious.
Bolstered by our beer, the five of us prepared to enter the bathroom. We kept the lights off, but Sharon had managed to produce a lighted candle. We started chanting, "Bloody Mary... Bloody Mary... Bloody Mary..." but to no good end. Nothing happened. Not a single thing. But being of stouter stuff, we weren't the sort to call it quits. And so we tried again. But again to no avail. And so we exited the darkened bathroom, to enjoy a few more beers. And to thoroughly deride Sharon for her failed "parlor" game.
Well, after a few more beers, Dewayne suggested we try the "Bloody Mary" thing a second time. In part he wanted to try it again because he was one ever up for a prank, but mostly he was hoping for a second chance because his "super bright" college gf was getting ripped by us for "Bloody Mary" being such a hopeless fake.
With all in agreement for a second try, we went back into the
bathroom. Sharon re-lighted her candle, and we got down to it. Only this time we didn't call on "Bloody Mary," rather we started calling on "Patience Worth." Why we happened to shift to "Patience Worth" from "Bloody Mary" I'm sure I don't remember. I only know that we did. And that after we switched to "Patience Worth" things began to happen!
From out of nowhere, Jerze began to scream! He screamed like somebody was pulling out his toes while an angry alley cat was clawing at his eyes! He tore his religious crucifix from about his neck and began to lash out with it, as though fighting for his very life. Then he bolted from the bathroom and ran out the front door, still screaming and flailing blindly with his crucifix. The four of us remaining
behind just looked at one another, hardly believing what we had witnessed. Dewayne and Sharon departed, leaving Tony and myself to finish the beer. And to ponder what had come over "crazy" Jerze, the little Polish kid from down the street.
We never saw "crazy" Jerze again. His parents had taken him the very next day and placed him in a monastery. "Crazy" Jerze had become a monk.
Some years later, my buddy Tony received a letter from Jerze, the little Polish kid from down the street and who had become a monk. In his letter, Jerze claimed something very terrible had happened to him that night. He had been attacked by something in the mirror. Not by Patience Worth... not by "Bloody Mary"...not by anyone or anything we had called up. Rather he had been attacked by the Devil himself. And
that he had saved his mortal soul by fighting off the Old Scratch with the silver crucifix his mother always made him wear!

when I was like twelve, I was going to sleep over at my friend's house. my friend had a baby sister, who was like three years old. my friend and I waited until the stroke of midnight then started doing the "bloody mary" thing, with candles burning in the mirror and saying her name like a hundred and eleven times. But then something really weird happened when this really ugly woman appeared in the mirror. we started screaming and stuff, and our screaming woke up my friend's little sister. my friend's sister began crying and came into the bathroom, carrying her teddy bear. But just as she entered, the woman in the mirror reached out and grabbed the little girl's teddy bear, and pulled it into the mirror! and I swear she was laughing, too! we all screamed again and ran to our beds to hide under the covers! and when my friend's parents came home, we told them what had happened.
naturally they didn't believe us. but they couldn't explain their daughter's missing teddy bear being clearly visible in the bathroom mirror, whenever the light was out and a candle was lit!

"BLOODY MARY"... IN THE 'HOOD
Urban Legend
10/21/05
My name is Cleophus and I am writing from the home of the urban legend, the inner city. When people talk about urban legends, they should perhaps first talk to someone who lives in or has lived in the urban area, because we are the peoples this stuff happens to.
I first heard about "Bloody Mary" at Sister Ofelia Desdemona's storefront bible study. She has it on Sundays, from 9 to 11, when the process parlor is closed for business and the guy running numbers isn't around. Around 10, she sends the younger kids home so that she can sell short dog wine, 'cause in our town can't nobody sell nothing but 3.2 beer on Sunday, and that only after 2 pm in the afternoon.
Anyway, that's how I came to know about "Bloody Mary."
Now, I'm here to tell you "Bloody Mary" wasn't no "red-faced
Massachusetts ghost" who got hanged for being a witch by a bunch of Christians. That ai'nt what happened. Not even. The REAL "Bloody Mary" was a jazz artist from the 1930s, living in the projects of Chicago's south side...
"Bloody Mary" confronted her boyfriend for cheating on her and throwing her over for some unnamed taxi dancer cabaret hostess. Made angry by the confrontation, her boyfriend got drunk (probably on short dog wine) and broke into Mary's apartment, where he straight-razor slashed her in front of her bathroom mirror, while she was putting make-up stuff on to hold the cucumber slices she had ready for her eyes, and which the police found on a saucer by her bed.
The reason "Bloody Mary" comes back when her name is called is because she is still looking for revenge against the unnamed lady taxi dancer her boyfriend had cheated with. Which is why it is almost always a GIRL or GIRLS who see her in the bathroom mirror. The only-est time "Bloody Mary" makes an appearance is if the one calling her with a candle is a GIRL, 'cause "Mary" comes to check her out to see if
she's the one she's searching for. I have tried calling her, both alone and with friends, and never saw anything. But some GIRLS at my school tried calling "Bloody Mary" and they saw her! One of them was even grabbed by the mirror's apparition. "Bloody Mary" reached out of the mirror and grabbed her by her hair, but she broke free before she could be dragged into the mirror and murdered! And she wasn't even the one "Bloody Mary" is searching for!
The reason for the darkened room is that ghosts who reside in the mirror-world can't see out (see we the living) unless the room is dark. And the candle is to attract their attention.
I am familiar with many more urban legends and will write true stories about them at a later time.

Okay, so one day me, my brother and my friend were playing games. Then all of a sudden I said "Hey, do you guys wanna try to play that "Bloody Mary" game?". My brother immediately said "yeah!" But my scared friend said "nooooo!" but me and my brother begged her to do it with us, she then said "fine". We all rush in the bathroom, and pull down all the shades, and shut off the lights. We then held hands and said "Bloody Mary". Before I came up with the idea I was fine, but now
I was crapping my pants like everyone else in the room. Finally on the 13# time, everyone was SO scared. Right then and there, we saw a figure of a face with long stringy hair. You couldn't make out the figure but it look like there was blood dripping down the mirror........ FREAKY!!!

The Ghost with the Candle
Ghost Story
10/28/05
My friends and I used to hang out in this park, usually after dark. We would always see this girl, about our age (we were like thirteen at the time), walking around and not talking to anyone. She always had a candle. She would stop by some people, and her lips would like move, but she never said anything. Then she would like walk away. So, one night my friends and I asked the girl if she would like to hang out.
But she didn't reply. Then we said we were going to one of our homes to have pizza, and she smiled. Then she nodded, and we assumed she wanted to hang out. So we took her with us when we went to have pizza.
But while we were eating and watching videos, we noticed the girl didn't eat but rather kept staring into the mirror. That gave us the idea to call up Bloody Mary, the Mirror Witch, thinking maybe the new girl would get a kick out of it. And so we did. Big Mistake! Bloody Mary appeared almost at once, and grabbed the girl from the park, the one with the candle, and pulled her into the mirror. The girl never screamed or anything. We were all SOOOO scared! We thought certain
Bloody Mary would murder the girl from the park. But we were wrong. We could see into the mirror that Bloody Mary was hugging the girl and wiping away her tears. Then they both turned to wave to us. Then they disappeared.
I will always believe the girl from the park was Bloody Mary's missing daughter, and that we had returned her to her mother and brought her home. How she came to be out of the mirror I don't know. All I know is I haven't called up Bloody Mary since. A TRUE STORY!

I am my Granny and NOT the little girl I am writing about. I am like really really old, like ninety-nine years old, and have grey hair and wrinkles. And a moustache. I also keep my teeth in a glass of water by my bed.
A very long time ago, when there were like horses and stuff and everything was in black and white, I was like thirteen years old and sleeping over at my friend's house. We were like watching ghost stories on tv and then telling ghost stories of our own. But we got scared, so we thought we would go to sleep. So, we went into the bathroom to brush our teeth and stuff. While we were in the bathroom, staring at the mirror, we decided to call Bloody Mary, the Mirror Witch. So, we lit a black candle and started calling her with, "Bloody Mary, come here now!" I don't know how many times we called her, but it was a lot. All of a sudden Bloody Mary appeared.
No lie! My friend laughed at her and said Bloody Mary sure was ugly! Well, Bloody Mary got super p'd-off at that, and reached out for my friend. But my friend ducked, so instead Bloody Mary got hold of my other friend (did I mention I had two friends?). Bloody Mary twisted my other friend's neck until her head got twisted off. Then Bloody Mary dragged her dead body and head into the mirror. Then she like started to eat them, like a cannibal! I swear it is true! There was
blood everywhere, and my other friend got sick. My friend and I tried to send Bloody Mary back to where she came from, but couldn't remember the words to, "Bloody Mary, go back now!" and so we ran away to hide.
My friend and I discussed what to do, like should we tell, but since her dad works for a bowling place and at the airport, and so drinks a lot and beats people up. And since the girl whose head got twisted off was a runaway (and whose name we didn't even know), we figured the best thing to do was just to forget about it. And so we cleaned up the mess and went to sleep. And until this very minute no one has
ever learned the terrible truth about Bloody Mary. I swear I will never forget what happened that night, even if I live to be a hundred!
Please make sure this gets in with all the other TRUE stories! Thank you.

I am in the 6th grade. Because I am the biggest kid in my class, it is easy for me to scare the other kids. I told them there was a girl in our school who was a witch. Everyone was afraid of her, because of that "Carrie" movie. She got angry at some kids and went to a Cajun man to help her get even. The Cajun man told her about Bloody Mary, and made to show her a mirror. The girl held a candle and when she looked into the mirror, the Cajun man used voodoo to push her into the
mirror, trapping her forever. And then the Cajun man put the mirror in our school. And now we can see her. We light a candle and she stares at us, her mouth moving. But her name isn't Mary. That is the story I told the kids in my class, who are all like eleven years old.

Many people have always believed in Bloody Mary. But from the experience my friends and I had with Bloody Mary, we will never forget. We went in the bathroom we thought we could document it on my cell. We started out with all of our names on the recording part of my cell. Then we did the original by saying Bloody Mary 3 times, while staring into the mirror. as soon as Kay said the last Bloody Mary my cell turned off. Now we are scared to go into the bathroom. And the weirdest thing about the whole ordeal is that my phone erased the recording of us saying bloody Mary. I guess we will never know what really happened in the mirror............?

-How Bloody Mary got put in her mirror
Urban Legend
11/14/05
Bloody Mary was a witch who lived a long time ago. She lived in a cardboard box, somewhere in Massachusetts, just like a homeless woman. Some very bad men tried to steal her cauldron, thinking it was really a pot of gold, and when she resisted they cut her face real bad. Then they burned the cardboard box she was living in, while she was still inside. That's when Bloody Mary died. The only thing that didn't get
burned up with Bloody Mary was her most treasured possession--the make-up mirror her mother had given her as a little girl. Later, some craftsman found the mirror, all charred and blackened but still suitable for use. He cut it up and put a small piece of it into the exact center of each of a bunch of mirrors he was then making, thinking it would look cool. These mirrors were then sold all around the country, and even all around the world. That is why you can
sometimes see Bloody Mary in the mirror. Or rather Bloody Mary's burned reflection, it being trapped forever in her mirror. She hates fire and candles, and so gets angry when she sees one.
I would never dare call Bloody Mary! Not for anything! No way!

My best friend's mom got lost in a graveyard when she was little, like three years old, and after stumbling around in the dark and crying pitifully fell fast asleep, an old wine bottle for her pillow, directly atop "Bloody Mary's" grave--or at least that's what the headstone read: "Here Lies Bloody Mary" (The Mirror Witch). And my friend's mom got haunted for her sacrilege, for having slept at midnight over Bloody Mary's grave, so much so that she grew up totally demented and was eventually driven criminally insane.
I went to my friend's house for a sleep-over (while her totally demented mom wasn't yet in the crazy house but was still allowed at home, as long as she was kept in her straight jacket and with that popsicle stick-thing in her mouth so that she wouldn't bite off her tongue) and we spent the night in her room. But there was a black-out and we had to light a candle (a black one 'cause it was all we had). Then we heard crying and looked in the bathroom, and we saw several freshly severed heads hanging from the ceiling by their hair, dripping blood and their lips still moving and saying, "help me!" So we shut the door and locked it with a chair. But exactly at midnight, the bathroom door opened, and we saw this girl with piggish red eyes and knotted green hair. She was licking the blood off her butcher knife and coming toward us. So we jumped out of bed and tried to run, but we had forgotten how. That's how scared we were! But thankfully we still knew how to crawl. So just like little babies, we crawled to her mom's room. But her mother wasn't there (which was very strange as she was usually kept tied to her bed), then we crawled down the stairs to the kitchen to hide. But in the kitchen we found a bloody note that looked like it had been written by someone wearing a straight jacket and holding the pencil in her teeth. The bloody note read, "went for help, be back soon. HIDE!" The note was signed, "your no longer totally demented mother." So we decided to call the police, but the phone was out. We thought then to run away, to go to our other friend's house, but then we remembered we had forgotten how to run. And besides, we didn't want to get busted for curfew, so we just stayed in the kitchen, eating ice cream and crying and stuff. When we had finished all the ice cream, we trudged sadly back upstairs, more than certain we were about to be murdered in our sleep and our amputated heads suspended from the ceiling. But luckily for us we weren't, as Bloody Mary was nowhere to be seen. We decided she had returned to her inside the mirror world of madness, ghosts and dripping blood, but we didn't know for sure. With neither of us caring to have our heads cut off in our sleep, my friend and I sprinkled peanut shells all around our bed, so that if Bloody Mary returned to sneak upon us we would hear them being crunched underfoot. After telling ghost stories, we fell asleep... only to be rudely wakened a little while later when we heard crunching footsteps coming towards us! Our hearts were pounding as we hid under the covers! And then we heard someone eating the peanuts from the bag we had left on the nightstand, and that same someone saying (in a very sinister dead witch's voice), "I wish I had some blood to drink." We don't know how long we hid shivering in our bed, while Bloody Mary devoured our snacks and wished for blood to drink, but it seemed forever! Then after what must have been a very long time, Bloody Mary walked away, crunching peanut shells with every step. But my friend and I didn't dare move. We just hid shivering beneath our blankets. Then we heard a rooster crowing. Thinking it to be dawn and that we were safe, we peeked out. We thanked our lucky stars we were alone. The chair was yet locking the bathroom door. Had we only dreamed of Bloody Mary and being murdered and our heads cut off? But then we saw the peanut shells, clearly crushed by heavy, bloody step! And the bag of peanuts on the nightstand... torn and empty and with bloody fingerprints! This is the truest story I have ever told! Believe it!

Me and my BFF were having a boring day and we decided to put some scare into it. We went to the bathroom and said Bloody Mary. I don't know how many times. The lights in the all flickered and the mirror was turning green. We sat there scared and saw this hand! We quickly ran out of the bathroom! The whole day we both saw the hand every where and we both went back to the bathroom and it was full of BLOOD! All
over the place.....to this day we still remember it and we still see blood in that bathroom!

okay so many people say that bloody mary was here in the united states but I heard that she was going to be a queen somewhere in England I think. here's how this story goes...queen mary got married to a king but it was an arranged marriage. the only reason the king agreed to marry was because he wanted kids so once he would die he would leave the throne to them but then he found out that mary
couldn't have any kids so he wanted a divorce but since he was catholic the church didn't allow it. So he made his own religion in which he did allow divorces and he got divorced. mary went back to where she was from. then the king got married again 7 times but every time he would get bored of his wife he would behead them and no one ever found out. After the divorce mary decided that she wanted everyone in the old world to become catholic and those who did not
she would kill or torture. she pretty much converted about all of England, Europe and some other places up there. but the point is she killed a lot of people and that's where she got the name of bloody mary. though I do not know how the mirror myth relates to any of this.

Me and my 2 best friends also my cousins Megan and Amber were having a sleep over at Megans house. We got really bored and we were hyped up on pop and candy. We were really hyper. Anyway after awhile we had gotten bored. So were started to look stuff up on the Internet. When we had found a story on Bloody Mary. We didn't really think it was true. So we went to Megans bathroom. Turned out all the lights and lit 3 candles... Then we had joined hands and started to chant her
name. After about the 13th time a horrible face had appeared in the mirror. It was Bloody Mary. She had long black hair and red eyes. She was also bleeding tears. We ran out of the Bathroom screaming. Except for Amber. She was so frozen in fear she couldn't move. When we were finally able to pull her put.. Her shirt was torn and she had scratches all over her... To this day we still talk about it.. And now every night before we go to bed we can still see that horrible face. SO if you decide to try this to see if it is really DON'T!!! Because it is real. And it will be the worse thing you ever experience.

Mary Worth is said to have lived in Massachusetts in the 17th century. Her face was hideously disfigured by dark red scars. Children in the Village called her "Bloody Mary," and followed her through the streets chanting her name over and over.
For thorough information and research of the versions and history of "Bloody Mary," go to: http://www.mythology.com
From: Nina

But be prepared to hear a blood curdleing scream!!!

assignment is to look up an urban legend and ask people their
version of the story I choose Bloody mary because I've actually done it and not thinking about until doing reasearch that I could share my experience with someone.

Believe me when I say that this is a true story because one of my friends now use to
practice witch craft and he believes me of what I told him.

opening and shutting faster and faster. we ran up in her room and got under the blankets. That same night we bolth woke up 4:15 in the morning by a huge bang and noone was in the house but us that night...can u say GET ME THE HELL OUTTA HERE!! -SAM-

To this day we havent had any strange happenings
but im terrified to go into the bathroom.

a few houses away. I told her what I did and she pointed to my arm and asked me how I got that scratch. it was long and bleeding. I don't know how I got it but I hadn't had it before I went in the bathroom!

-bloody mary and the ball
Urban Legend
6/23/05
it was about elementary I was in about 4th grade. a whole bunch of us went into the girls bathroom and the boys in the boys bathroom to do bloody mary... so all of us formed a circle holding hands n stuff... we putted a ball right in the middle of all of us... and we turned out the lights. we started chanting bloody mary over and over again...
all of a sudden the ball in the middle of us started bouncing up and down. we all started being scared, then we looked at the mirrors and out of all the mirrors we saw a red light or blood looking something in the middle one... the ball was still bouncing a whole bunch of us were screaming too... then all of the sudden the yard duty lady came in... she turned on the lights..and she told us to get out of the bathroom (ruining our fun as always). the ball stopped bouncing ..... so we started leaving the bathroom and as I turned around and looked at the mirror with the red thing I saw what looked like a scratch in it. as we were all talking about it later on the same thing came from the boys too.. they did the same thing... but instead of the ball in the middle of them they had putted it in the corner... but what was even weirder was the red looking thing in the mirror and the scratch afterwards just like what happened to us. also it was on the middle mirror... talk about scary.....

All

okay so many people say that bloody mary was here in the united states but I heard that she was going to be a queen somewhere in England I think. here's how this story goes...queen mary got married to a king but it was an arranged marriage. the only reason the king agreed to marry was because he wanted kids so once he would die he would leave the throne to them but then he found out that mary
couldn't have any kids so he wanted a divorce but since he was catholic the church didn't allow it.

Urban Legend
2/21/06
Takk takk for meg :mozilla_laughing:

Bloody Mary i speilet er en urban legend. Dronning Mary 1. var derimot en høyst virkelig person som i ettertid har fått tilnavnet "Bloody Mary" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_I_of_England ).
